[netCDF #GZH-759902]: netcdf4 client not reusing connections in opendap calls via curl

I think that the problem was that
the servlet was not properly closing
connections after a reply was returned.
Hence they hung around until they timed out.
Unfortunately, I also thought I had fixed
the problem, but apparently not. This may take
a while.
