Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean by "volume data format".  There are many different
volume data formats, as
a Google search for "volume data format" gets over 1800 hits.

I don't know of any software to convert the data in a n-dimensional netCDF
variable into any volume
data formats for visualization.  If you have a 3D variable, perhaps all you
need to do is write the
values out in floating point format in the right order.
