[netCDF #GIT-708087]: CF conventions link broken

Yes, I saw the message.  We do send an autoreply to every support
request sent to address@hidden, so you should
have gotten one.

In response to the issue you raised, we know that the CF Conventions
URL is broken, as it's in transition from cf-pcmdi.llnl.gov to 
cf-convention.github.io, but the transition is not yet complete.  The
canonical URL domain for CF conventions is cfconventions.org, and
we have requested that to be redirected to cf-convention.github.io,
but it requires action by the LLNL staff who are managing the 
transition to GitHub.  In the meantime, we have temporarily changed
the cf-pcmdi.llnl.gov URL in our web documents to 
cf-convention.github.io, but will change back to the canonical domain
when that is working again.
