Hi Marwan, Sorry it's taken so long to respond, we've been away at a meeting for a week. The error you are getting is configure:6697: checking for grep that handles long lines and -e configure:6760: error: no acceptable grep could be found in /usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/cygdrive/c/Program Files/Silverfrost/FTN95:/cygdrive/c/WINDOWS/system32:/cygdrive/c/WINDOWS:/cygdrive/c/WINDOWS/System32/Wbem:%C:/WINDOWS%/system32:%C:/WINDOWS%:%C:/WINDOWS%/System32/Wbem:/cygdrive/c/WINDOWS/system32/:/cygdrive/c/WINDOWS/system32/Wbem:/cygdrive/c/Program Files/QuickTime/QTSystem:/usr/xpg4/bin which indicates the grep utility program that is part of your cygwin installation is inadequate for building and testing netCDF. We've never seen this error before with a cygwin installation. There should be a suitable grep utility available as part of the cygwin installation. Perhaps your search path is not set correctly? Do you get a location on your search path when you look for it with "which grep"? --Russ Russ Rew UCAR Unidata Program address@hidden http://www.unidata.ucar.edu Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: CAN-447656 Department: Support netCDF Priority: Normal Status: Closed
