[McIDAS #JDP-876809]: VISSR/VAS (GOES-7 and earlier) AREA files projection problems

If you mean convert to netCDF format, then yes, it can and so can the
IDV upon which McIDAS-V is built.

If you want to use McIDAS-V for analyzing the imagery, then it would be
best to keep the images in their original AREA format.
