Hi, I used McIDAS-X to convert the GOES-17 (SMS-II) images in AREA format to netCDF for the dates/times you listed in a previous email. The images are available from: https://atm.ucar.edu/decoded/mcidas/GOES7/netCDF Comments: - all netCDF images have been bzip compressed to save disk space and make them download quicker - the IR images converted from AREA to netCDF without any problems - the process that converts the VIS images in AREA format would hang after writing out what appears to be a full file, but I am not sure that the resultant images are fully viable - the netCDF VIS images are LARGE even after being gzip compressed! Please let me know when you have downloaded the images so that they can be deleted.
