Hi Robert, re: > Thanks, Tom. No worries. re: > BTW, I tried to start the SSEC GUI and the Building ADDE Server Pop-Up > hangs and I cannot start the GUI. I had to kill -9 on the box. This is _not_ good news! Did your GUI invocation get to the point of bringing up the 'mcimage' window and having it reparented by Tk? If the answer to the above is no, I would try bringing up the GUI with no ADDE datasets defined and seeing what happens. To do this, you would have to delete MCTABLE.TXT (after backing it up somewhere first!) and ADDESITE.TXT (ditto on the need to back it up first!!) before starting the GUI. This way, there will be nothing for the Building ADDE Server Pop-Up to do. This test would be most interesting to me since it should answer the question about whether the SSEC approach to 'mcimage' reparenting succeeds while mine fails. re: > Also MCMENU UNIDATA.MNU also results in having to kill -9. It locks up as > well. I must say that I have not tried to bring up the Fkey menu in several years, so I can not shed any light onto it locking up.
