Hi Caitlyn,
It sounds like to your .unidata directory may be corrupt. The .unidata
directory is a hidden folder in your home directory \Users\<your windows
username>\.unidata. Here are instructions on viewing hidden folders on Windows:

Please delete this .unidata directory and restart the IDV. What happens?
