[GEMPAK #KCH-144722]: NAVGEM tables?

I downloaded all 0600 files, 322 in total.

used dcgrib2 to produce a GEMPAK grid file with 310 grids. file sizes of grib1 
and gempak file:

-rw-r--r-- 1 mjames ustaff 35259904 2013-03-05 14:04 0600.gem
-rw-r--r-- 1 mjames ustaff 36268106 2013-03-05 14:04 0600.grib

so 36 MB for 310 grids.  so I don't know why you're seeing a file size of 133 
MB.
