Hi Jesse, > When you say pull a lot of data, is there more data available that is not on > you're edex cloud server? There is actually some more data out there than what we're processing for our EDEX (the GFS 0.25 degree for example). But to elaborate, our EDEX server is probably one of the largest in the country (there's only one server that might be larger and we helped the university set it up earlier last year). Our server uses 3 machines, the largest having 44 cores and over 100gb of RAM. So, in short, what I mean is if you want to run an EDEX with CAVE on it, you would need to be processing significantly less data than what we serve. Most EDEX servers (set up at WFOs) only pull very localized data. Whereas our EDEX tries to serve at least national data, and for some datasets, even more than that. So, if you were to run your own EDEX I would suggest limiting it to a very localized region in Nebraska I assume. I hope that makes more sense. Also, sorry, I misread your email address, and didn't see you work for the government. I believe we'd be able to come to an arrangement to share/send our data to you if you were to set up an EDEX server. I'd have to talk to some of my other colleagues, but can definitely look into that if you become serious about going that route. I will make one other note, since I know you're running CAVE on a Windows machine. EDEX will only run on CentOS7, so keep that in mind.
