Hi Jesse, > So am I missing something on trying to find a snowfall accumulation map from > the > GFS or NAM? Sorry I didn't respond to that part of your previous message. If I recall correctly, we used to have a menu item for the snowfall accumulation in our AWIPS and we noticed sometime last year that it wasn't working, so it was removed. We have not investigated why it was not working, but it is on a list and I'll try and see if we can bump it up the priority, especially considering we're heading right into the middle of winter right now. Thanks for bringing it up. > When you say localized for Nebraska would that mean not being able to see > whole > patterns such as how the wind is flowing across the whole CONUS? Still > learning! This is really something you'd have to try out on whatever machine you end up getting for running EDEX. With the more data you receive, the longer the processing times become to decode and ingest them into your EDEX. So, at some point your latencies end up becoming so great you never actually get real-time data. So, it's not something I can give you really definitive answers on, especially without knowing some specs on the machine you'd be intending to use as your EDEX server. Just for reference between our three EDEX machines we're receiving an average of ~140 Gb/hour, with peaks of over double that. So, that gives you a bit more context of how much data our EDEX server system is processing.
