[THREDDS #LKQ-823990]: JVM crashes when performing a DODS request

Ok, I downloaded the data.
The big problem for me is that I keep running out of
jvm memory. "We're gonna need a bigger machine..."

I will keep this open, but may not respond for a while
until I can duplicate the problem.
