Hello, By default, both shared and static libraries are enabled; unless you are explicitly passing '--disable-static', the .a file will be generated. In the source tree, the libnetcdf.a file will be found in the liblib/.libs/ directory. After running 'make install', however, you will find the libnetcdf.a file in the libs/ directory contained within the installation directory specified.
