You have some options. Assuming you have netcdf-c installed, then the simplest way is to do this: 1. Download the file by clicking on it on that page you mentioned. Suppose you download this file: HadISDH.marineq.1.0.0.2016p_OBSclim2BClocal_anoms8110_JAN2017_cf.nc 2. Use the netcdf ncdump command. For example to see all the metadata of that file, use this command ncdump -h HadISDH.marineq.1.0.0.2016p_OBSclim2BClocal_anoms8110_JAN2017_cf.nc You might also look at the NC operators (NCO) at UC Irvine. > Hi, > I'd like to find a simple piece of software to view an NC file from > https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/hadobs/hadisdh/downloadMARINE100.html > > can you please provide a specific link?
