The short answer is no. When you say parallel, I assume you mean multi-threading (as opposed to using mpi, which we can do internally). Some groups have claimed that by putting locks around calls to nc_open and nc_close, that they have done it successfully for netcdf-3 files. Also, HDF5 claims to support a multiple reader, single writer model for data, but we have not yet investigated this. > I want to read different datasets from the same netcdf file opened using a > single ncid into different data buffers in parallel.
