[netCDFJava #LOO-265831]: Datatype conflict

Let me [Dennis Heimbigner] interject here. From the
stack trace you give, it appears that your .nc file is
netcdf-3 (aka classic) format. That format does not support
64 bit integers (which is what a Java long integer is).
You need to switch to using the netcdf-4 (aka enhanced) file format.
