In looking at the config.log, I see this:
conftest.c(133): error: expected an expression
if (sizeof ((off_t)))
^
This looks like an autoconf problem where it
has produced ((off_t)) rather than (off_t).
THe only suggestion I have is to try
a different version of autoconf
