[netCDF #ZSI-120535]: Make Check failure for netcdf-4.1.1

We'll need a little more to go on to figure out why you're getting errors.  
Also,
unless you really need that version from nearly 4 years ago, I'd recommend the
latest version, 4.3.1, which has various bug fixes and portability fixes.

In any case, please send us the "config.log" file generated when you tried to
build as well as the full output from "make all" and "make check".
