[netCDF #LEX-922145]: confusion

Sorry about that.  I've tried to clear up the confusing parts and explain how 
you know
if the netCDF library is installed only as a static library (there are no 
libnetcdf.so*
files in the library directory where it was installed).  Take a look at the 
revised
installation instructions and please let me know if you still find them 
confusing.
