[netCDF #YRU-816329]: Two questions

This archive contains answers to questions sent to Unidata support through mid-2025. Note that the archive is no longer being updated. Yes, I hope to release and announce it tomorrow, pending tests tonight.
I've actually created the 4.2.1 distribution, but don't want to announce
it until we've completed some additional manual steps involving the
online documentation.  But it's available on our FTP site, if you want
to get a head-start testing it on the NWSC machine.

The udunits library is no longer installed as part of the netCDF C 
distribution.  It wasn't installed with netCDF-4.2 either.  I actually
wasn't aware it had been deactivated in that distribution, but since no
one complained, we decided to leave it as a separate software 
distribution for now, from
