[netCDF #WJF-305473]: ncgen fails to handle output of ncdump

First, as far as I am aware, the structure
of the netcdf files on disk has not changed
for a long time.

As for visualization, have you tried our
IDV viewer (http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/idv/)
