There are two problems here.
1. that variable does not appear to exist in that data set
    (look at .dds instead of .ascii).
2. The server opendap code has a missing edge case for
   an empty Dataset{}; it treats it as a request for the whole
   dataset.

You will have to address #1. I will take care of #2.
