Greetings Johannes, If you would like to install netCDF in a specific directory (like one in which you have wrx access), use the --prefix option when running configure: ./configure --prefix=/location/of/your/choice [your other options here] So for me, I like to install things in my home directory under .local, in a structure that mimics the layout of / ./configure --prefix=/home/me/.local Cheers!
