The error message is from the Fortran run-time library for list-directed I/O, and has nothing to do with C++. The netCDF Fortran library does no list-directed I/O, so it's hard to see how that run-time library is called from netCDF. Sorry, but unless we can duplicate the problem, We won't be able to help with this one.
