[netCDF #SGX-325950]: Compound attributes - nested?

Yes, nesting is allowed.

By vector-valued, do you mean arrays of compound types? If so, then the answer 
is also, yes. That is, you can have an array of compound type which contains 
nested compound types (or arrays of them).
