Not with Intel compilers, but we have successfully built version 4.1.3 under Cygwin with gcc using the environment settings shown under the Cygwin entry here: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/builds/4_1_3/index.jsp As you can see, that was configured with --disable-fortran, and the output from the "configure" and "make check install" commands that's supposed to be visible by clicking on the blue link in the right column of the table is currently not accessible. I'll Cc: ed to see if he can make it available. At the bottom of this FAQ response: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/docs/faq.html#windows_netcdf4_1 there's a note about a contribution by Viet Eitner about a 4.1.1 build for Windows built with Intel compilers, including Fortran. > 2) Can you help me understand what configure is trying to do when it > hits this error, so I can try to track down a solution? Sorry, I don't know anything about Windows. Maybe Ed will have a suggestion ... --Russ > > > ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– > Jeffrey E.
