[netCDF #PNB-474781]: conftest.F error with netcdf-4.1.1

This is all OK.

The configure script generates lots of errors as it tries to figure out your 
system by running all kinds of tests. Did the configure script finish 
successfully?

Did you read intel's advice on compiling netCDF? It's available here:
