[netCDF #JCE-206102]: 4.1.2-beta1 compile error on macos x

I can duplicate the problem on our MacOS X platform, and it seems to depend
on configuring with --enable-shared.

If I remove --enable-shared, everything works fine until the F90 tests, where
two failures occur that may be bugs in the experimental gfortran I am using

  GNU Fortran (GCC) 4.5.0 20090910 (experimental)
 ...

   Error: NetCDF: Numeric conversion not representable

 ...

 ...

If you can get by without a Fortran-90 interface or you have a later
version of gfortran (or another Fortran-90 compiler for MacOSX), that
might be a workaround.
