Hi Mondher, Sorry, we haven't been able to reproduce the problem here and we think it might be because of a change since the netCDF version you are using, but that wouldn't explain why it worked for you on a 64-bit architecture but not on a 32-bit architecture. Nevertheless, it would help to know if the problem still exists in the latest snapshot, which has been undergoing daily changes in the DAP support code to adapt to feedback we've been getting from users. But this is complicated by the fact that we see a different problem currently with use of PGI on 32-bit platforms that prevents building: Making check in oc make[2]: Entering directory `/machine/netcdf/nc_test_2271/netcdf-4.1-snapshot2009112500/libncdap3/oc' /bin/sh ../../libtool --tag=CC --mode=compile cc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../.. -I../../fortran -I../../libsrc -m32 -MT liboc_la-daptab.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/liboc_la-daptab.Tpo -c -o liboc_la-daptab.lo `test -f 'daptab.c' || echo './'`daptab.c libtool: compile: cc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../.. -I../../fortran -I../../libsrc -m32 -MT liboc_la-daptab.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/liboc_la-daptab.Tpo -c daptab.c -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/liboc_la-daptab.o In file included from /usr/include/curl/curl.h:35, from ocinternal.h:34, from dap.y:6: /usr/include/curl/curlbuild.h:4:26: error: curlbuild-32.h: No such file or directory In file included from /usr/include/curl/curl.h:36, from ocinternal.h:34, from dap.y:6: /usr/include/curl/curlrules.h:80:4: error: #error "CURL_SIZEOF_LONG definition is missing!" You should be able to check the status of Linux PGI 32-bit builds on our snapshot testing page: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/builds/snapshot/ Thanks for your patience while we try to solve various problems holding up the release of 4.1. We have no dedicated support staff and only 3 netCDF developers, so while questions like yours are important to us, we can't always respond to them as quickly as we would like. --Russ Russ Rew UCAR Unidata Program address@hidden http://www.unidata.ucar.edu Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: MCO-157606 Department: Support netCDF Priority: High Status: Closed
