Sorry, I meant to tell you (before I left on two days leave) that you need to upgrade to HDF5-1.8.3-post2 or else disable that test. The problem has to do with attributes of deeply nested compound types and their interpretation on machines with different packing of structs. This test was added in response to a bug, and the bug turned out to be partly in netcdf and partly in HDF5-1.8.3. So the HDF5 team released the 1.8.3-post2 release. I will announce this on the mailing list so other snapshot users don't hit the same problem. Thanks!
