Hi Erik, Another of our users has reported on success with the 4.0.1-beta version recently made available at ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/netcdf/netcdf-beta.tar.gz That user wrote: Intel mac powerbook OS 10.5.6, i686-apple-darwin9-gcc-4.0.1 (GCC) 4.0.1 (Apple Inc. build 5490), G95 (GCC 4.0.3 (g95 0.91!) Sep 20 2008) make, make check and make install all ran smoothly.
