Hi Carl, Sorry it has taken so long to respond to your question. The error you are seeing: > make: *** No rule to make target `extra_check'. Stop. is a result of out-of-date documentation that has now been corrected, from > 4. if you are having problems with very large files (larger than > 2GiB), the output of make extra_check. to 4. if you are having problems with very large files (larger than 2GiB), send the output of "make check" after first running "make distclean" and invoking the configure script with the --enable-large-file-tests option included and setting a directory for where large files can be created with the --with-temp-large=<directory> option. although the change to the on-line documentation hasn't occurred yet. Please let us know if you see a problem with the large file tests when run as above. Thanks for reporting the problem. --Russ Russ Rew UCAR Unidata Program address@hidden http://www.unidata.ucar.edu Ticket Details =================== Ticket ID: SMJ-933189 Department: Support netCDF Priority: High Status: Closed
