Hi Luis, I'm not sure on what system you are trying to build netCDF, but nf_test should link without commenting out any lines. In particular, the functions such as FCALLSCFUN4 are all defined in the cfortran.h header file, which is #included by ncfortran.h, which in turn is #included at the top of fort-var1io.c.
