Cameron, The -g option merely turns on debugging, and should not affect the behavior of correct programs in any way. The fact that it does either indicates a bug in your development software (possibly the f77 compiler), or a remaining problem in your program, possibly a subscripting error or type declaration problem. At some point, you might want to try turning on bounds checking or all possible compiler warnings to see if they help locate the problem.
