Thanks for pointing that out! The example program pres_temp_4d_rd.f90 can also 
be found in the examples/F90 directory of the netCDF distribution.

I have fixed this in our cvs source, and it will be corrected on the snapshot 
documentation next time a snapshot of the code is run:
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/builds/snapshot
