Hi Nicolas,

I think the problem is your response to these two prompts:

> Enter a value for the netCDF header (e.g. "-I/usr/local/unidata/include"):
>
> /nfs/shared-sandbox/armstrong/netCDF/compiled/include     
Instead try
  -I/nfs/shared-sandbox/armstrong/netCDF/compiled/include

> Enter a value for the netCDF library (e.g. "-L/usr/local/unidata/lib 
> -lnetcdf"):
> 
> /nfs/shared-sandbox/armstrong/netCDF/compiled/lib
Instead respond with
  -L/nfs/shared-sandbox/armstrong/netCDF/compiled/lib -lnetcdf

You should run "make clean" first before trying to build again.
