[netCDF #KVT-980429]: netCDF General - compiling

Hi Todd,

We would be very interested in a cmake solution such as you are developing.  Ed 
Hartnett is the only one hear who can answer your questions and he's currently 
away from email for a few days, but until then, you could read the online 
overview of libtool that's available in "The Goat Book"

It might answer some of your questions.  Our Makefiles and configure script are 
generated using the GNU autoconf, automake, and libtool tools.
