It would help to also get the output from running the configure script. This
is not the same as the "config.log" file, which I got from your attachment
(thanks for that). It is instead the standard output from running the
configure script, and can be obtained after running "make distclean" to start
over from a state equivalent to downloading and unpacking the compressed tar
file:
$ make distclean
# set options you provided in environment variables, if any
$ ./configure > configure.out
(you might also set options to configure). it's the "configure.out" file I
need to debug this problem. Thanks, and sorry for not making this clear.
