Does ncdump display _FillVAlue as the underscore char? --Chris Hi Chris, I've got a newby question for you... I am developing software to convert AOC P3 data in standard tape format to NetCDF. This is the first software I have written to create NetCDF output. I have set the attribute _FillValue for each of my variables to -32767 $attid = NetCDF::attput($ncid, $varid, "_FillValue",NetCDF::FLOAT, -32767); When I put data into the NetCDF file, then view it using ncdump, values of -32767 appear as an underscore, i.e. DV = -375.7, -375.7, ... ,-3257.6, _, _, _, _, _, _, _, _, -3274.7, ...My variable, DV, is defined as a float as well. My first thought was that the value was too big for the field, but a float should hold values larger than -32767? Do you have any idea why this is happening? Is it supposed to happen, or does it indicate a bug in my code? If it is a bug, any ideas on what might be going wrong?
