We have been unable to get access to a BDS file system on which to try to duplicate this problem. NCAR's Scientific Computing Division used to run BDS on a HIPPI interface, but not any more. To make any progress on debugging this, we would need login access to a system with BDS so we could build it and figure out what's wrong. Can you get us access to a remote login on an SGI system where we could try to duplicate the problem? --Russ _____________________________________________________________________ Russ Rew UCAR Unidata Program address@hidden http://my.unidata.ucar.edu
