Yes, take a look at the relevant entry on our "Known Problems with the netCDF 3.5.0 Distribution" page, at http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/packages/netcdf/known_problems.html This dealt with gcc 3.0 rather than 3.0.1, which we haven't installed yet, but I assume these fixes will work for 3.0.1 also.
