20000623: netCDF-3 compatibility question ...

Our ncdump utility didn't have any problems dumping the file.  The
discrepancy could be due to our ncdump being more recent than yours or
due to different operating systems (mine is SunOS 5.7).

May I suggest that you install version 3.4 of the netCDF package --
which is one minor revision later than yours -- and see how it works.
