There's your problem. When using gcc and g77 to build the netCDF package, the C macro "f2cFortran" must be defined. Do the following: 1. Perform steps 2 through 4 near the end of the INSTALL file. 2. Perform step 5 in the INSTALL file (defining environment variables) but ensure that the environment variable CPPFLAGS contains the string "-Df2cFortran". 3.
