Sorry about the in-complete request.. >I am using Windows 3.1 and NT the file that I am trying to look @ is: >typical::: http"//info.abrfc.gov/pub/StageIII/1hr.netcdf/092198142.nc >Tom I am with the city of Tulsa. The file that we are trying to look/load is >a precipitation file of the NWS. Try using the 3.4 version of ncdump that we built for NT: machine: ftp.unidata.ucar.edu user: anonymous pass: address@hidden directory: pub/netcdf/contrib/win32/netcdf-3.4.win32bin.zip While your are in the directory, check out the README and WIN32_INSTALL documents. An additional comment is that there are two versions of ncdump and ncgen in the zip file: the copies that have the 's' (e.g. ncdumps.exe) are linked statically so they don't need/use the DLL. It is likely that your problem with the older ncdump.exe is that it will not run in your win3.1 or NT environments. It is also possible, however, that the netCDF file that you were trying to look at was damaged in some way. >Jack Sheridan Tom Yoksas
