No, we haven't tried Visual J++, but we have successfully used netCDF
for Java classes on several other platforms, including Sun, Mac, and
SGI.

We might be able to help if you tell us what the compiler errors were.

Note that you should be able to just use the .class files that come with
the distribution and are already compiled, even if you don't have a
compiler that can compile the .java files.
