Hi Barry, Just in case you didn't see this on the netcdfgroup mailing list, I'm forwarding it to you. I have no idea what the problem is, but if you have access to a Solaris platform, you might want to request a small test case that demonstrates the problem. The netCDF Fortran interface passes all the tests, including calls to NCOPN using NCNOWRIT on my Solaris 2.3 platform with the latest f77 from SunSoft: SC3.0.1 24 Jan 1995 so I don't think the problem is there. --Russ ------- Forwarded Message From: address@hidden (Gary Strand) Subject: netCDF, Solaris, and Sun's f77 v3.0 Date: Mon, 13 Feb 1995 16:10:20 -0700 Up until my machine was moved to Solaris, I had used Barry Schwartz' "gennet" FORTRAN program with considerable success. However, now it crashes and burns, very badly. Apparently the Sun FORTRAN f77 version 3.0 compiler doesn't care for "NCNOWRIT" (a parameter) being used in the function call "NCID = NCOPN(CDFNAM(1:ILL),NCNOWRIT,RCODE)". I get the fol- lowing error: *** TERMINATING a.out *** Received signal 11 POSSIBLE ATTEMPT TO MODIFY CONSTANT Segmentation fault Any clues/suggestions? - -- Gary Strand WWW: http://www.cgd.ucar.edu/cscor/gary/gary.html address@hidden PO Box 3000 Boulder CO 80307-3000 (303) 497-1336 ------- End of Forwarded Message
