Hi, re: > That is a lovely description of the MAG, thanks. If I missed that on > some documentation somewhere for McIDAS X, my apologies for having to ask. The one thing to remember about McIDAS-X is that it does not interpolate pixels to get new pixels for simple things like IMGDISPing an image. Remapping an image into a different projection (IMGREMAP) is completely different, and that is where specifying RES= and MAG= might be harder to understand. re: > I inherited some code with MAGS and have done a bunch of things since > then, but I never analyzed the entire meaning of the mags until I needed > to synchronize external (outside McIdas) and internal imagery and > projections. I understand better where you are coming from now! re: > I don't think we are using McIDAS V, but should take a look at this again. I think you will find that the job of overlaying images on top of each other is very simple in McIDAS-V/IDV, and the ability to really control transparency makes it very easy to create visually attractive and useful displays. On top of that, looking at data on a globe is absolutely fantastic! re: > Thanks! No worries.
