Hi Carol, re: use IMGPROBE to get units of an image > Ok great! This helps a lot. re: > So then how to you choose the right UNIT from the 4 in your given example? The "right" unit is the one that one desires in the output netCDF file. To answer which one is best for your purposes, you have to answer the question of what you want to use the netCDF file(s) for. re: > I'm guessing you'd want to use BRIT or TEMP in your example. BRIT is a supported calibration type for every image as is RAW (in case of 1-byte images RAW and BRIT are typically the same). TEMP is a supported calibration type for Infrared images. re: > I guess, what > is the most common way to do this kind of conversion for an infrared > channel? When would you use RAW? If I were going to use the output netCDF file simply as a display, I'd use BRIT. If I want to interrogate the image in an application like the IDV, I'd use TEMP for Infrared images. re: > Thanks, No worries.
