Hi Christian, re: > I am trying to update my satellite production to high-temporal resolution > GOES-16 data. > I am using RTGOESR on lead.unidata.ucar.edu. OK. Just as an FYI: both the RTGOESR (GRB GOES-16 imagery) and NPGOESR (NOAAport delivered GOES-16 imagery reconstituted into full scenes from the tiles that are broadcast) are also available via ADDE on atm.ucar.edu (and will eventually also be available on motherlode.unidata.ucar.edu and adde.ssec.wisc.edu). re: > I am using the latest McIDAS-X version 2017 with updates. > However, when trying to display a map, I still obtain the NO IMAGE OR NO > NAVIGATION FOR FRAME error. > I tried to search and verify all potential problems, and I cannot find any > solution yet. > Would you have any hint? Since there are a number of people/sites that are successfully using Unidata McIDAS-X v2017+, it is unexpected to hear that you are having problems. The only thing that comes to mind is somehow you are running older code that did not support the FixedGrid projection used by all GRB GOES-16 imagery and the Full Disk GOES-16 imagery that is sent in NOAAPort. Please (re)check to make sure that your PATH is set to use the routines from the v2017+ build and not something previous. Here is what I would do: <as 'mcidas'> cd $MCDATA ls -alt `which imgdisp.k` ls -alt `which map.k` What are the time stamps associated with both imgdisp..k and map.k? re: > As user mcidas but I obtain the same results with other users: > > -bash-4.1$ dataloc.k LIST RTGOESR > > Group Name Server IP Address > -------------------- ---------------------------------------- > RTGOESR LEAD.UNIDATA.UCAR.EDU > > -bash-4.1$ imglist.k RTGOESR/CONUSC01 > Image file directory listing for:RTGOESR/CONUSC01 > Pos Satellite/ Date Time Center Band(s) > sensor Lat Lon > --- ------------- ------------ -------- ---- ---- ------------ > 576 G-16 IMG 29 APR 18119 15:47:20 30 87 1 > imglist.k: done > > -bash-4.1$ imgdisp.k RTGOESR/CONUSC01 > Beginning Image Data transfer, bytes= 310276 > IMGDISP: loaded frame 1 > imgdisp.k: done > > -bash-4.1$ map.k > map.k: NO IMAGE OR NO NAVIGATION FOR FRAME > > -bash-4.1$ which map.k > ~/bin/map.k Cheers, Tom -- **************************************************************************** Unidata User Support UCAR Unidata Program (303) 497-8642 P.O.
