Hi Mary Ellen, Sorry for the slow reply to your inquiry... re: > I've convinced myself I'm remembering incorrectly. I don't think there is > a work around the 10K limit using DIRFILE. I was under the impression that the 9999 limit on datasets of AREA files was only when the beginning and ending AREA file numbers were specified when creating the ADDE dataset with DSSERVE (dsserve.k). The whole purpose for being able to describe a set of files that comprise a named ADDE dataset via the regular expression specified in the DIRFILE= keyword was to eliminate the 9999 member restriction (I know because I was the one that implemented this way of defining ADDE datasets, and my objective was to get rid of the 9999 member limit!). Before I go code diving to see where the mistaken logic is, please verify that: - ls /data/msg_remap/*msg_* | wc -l is >= 10K - re-verify that you get a message telling you that there are too many elements in your ADDE dataset when DIRFILE='/data/msg_remap/*msg_*' TIA...
